Fine art and cultural property

10

The fine art and cultural property market is international, long established and broad based.  Complex legal issues often arise for those who operate within it.  Since 1828, we have acted for a diverse range of clients in this market including auction houses, dealers, artists, museums, educational institutions, brokers, banks, valuers, insurers and collectors.

Today, we advise and represent clients across a broad range of matters, including acquisition and disposal of art; complex disputes including issues of attribution and title; the international dimension; agency agreements; security documentation; intellectual property; corporate strategy and investment; regulatory; and compliance issues.

Our clients include The British Museum, Christie's, The City Literary Institute, Hazlitt Gooden & Fox, The Royal College of Art, The Society of London Art Dealers, The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, South East Essex College of Arts and Technology and Waddington Galleries.

We sponsor exhibitions both at our own offices and externally and we provide pro bono advice to young artists and students.

We are very appreciative and thrilled that, law-wise, we are in such good hands.
